A Very Beanly Christmas

Whilst it wasn’t, strictly speaking, Beany’s first Christmas, it was the first Christmas she was actually able to join in. Last year she was only two and a half weeks old; barely in the world and frankly, the same went for us given the sleep deprivation.

This year we spent Christmas with my husband’s family. There are a few family traditions at Christmas with the Nelsons: sausage rolls and champagne for breakfast, Norfolk Black turkey for dinner, Norfolk Nog , watching A Muppet Christmas Carol and now, Nelson’s Pickled Leeks.

The sausage rolls and champagne breakfast:

Presents around the tree:

We had a wonderful Christmas this year and I hope you did too. Don’t forget to let us know what you got up to in the comments below.

I love your Christmas scrapbook idea!

I traveled to Iowa for the holidays so my husband and I could spend Christmas together. I went with him, his sister, and his brother, to spend part of Christmas Eve day with his other sister’s family. Christmas Day, his sister, Cathy, worked, so we went to the hospital to have lunch with her. We had a quiet gift exchange and tuna pot pie. After six Christmases in Taiwan, it was a relaxing step back into the holidays. I predict we will be celebrating in Michigan, closer to kids and my parents. Time will tell. πŸ™‚

Best wishes to you, Bean, and the rest of your family in the new year!
