It was a weekend of conferences and rallies, the in-laws were visiting and autumn sunshine was plentiful.
I attended my first ever blogging conference on Saturday in Winchester, run by the lovely Laura Seaton of Blog On UK. I’ve been a bit reluctant to join one of these events up until now as I didn’t really think it was for me, but the price was a steal and the conference was only twenty minutes away, so there really was no excuse.
It was a chance to meet bloggers old and new, network with brands, if you wanted, learn new skills and be inspired in morning and afternoon workshops.
In the morning Annie Spratt from Fable and Folk gave a workshop on developing a photography style.
I was very flattered to discover Annie included my photo in her very informative blog post about the session. You can read it here.
In the afternoon I socialised with some of the bloggers I knew and some I didn’t.
Here’s a few I met up with:
- Clare from Maybush Studios
- Becky: Rhyming Mummy
- Jen: Jennifer’s Little World
- Aby: You Baby Me Mummy
- Em: Snowing Indoors
- Dawn: Dear Mummy Blog

It was a fun day and great to hear about people’s experience of blogging and their writing journeys.
Sunday and it was family time. We’ve often driven past the Twyford Waterworks and thought it looked like an interesting place to visit. When we discovered they were having an Autumn Rally, well, we had to go.
There were classic cars, steam engines, a nature trail and a tour of the old waterworks. It was a great family event and I’ll be writing a full blog post with lots more photos later in the week. It’s a wonderful old building and there’s some great work going on there to preserve it.
A perfect weekend: me time and family time.
I’d love to know what you’ve bean up to this weekend, so make sure you let me know in the comments below. You can follow my eclectic photos via Instagram for more murder, mystery, nature and monochrome. I’m linking up with #PointShoot, hosted by Snowing Indoors and You Baby Me Mummy.
