More Than We Thought, But Is It Enough?

Earth’s trees number ‘three trillion’ – BBC News

‘The team estimates we are removing about 15 billion a year, with perhaps only five billion being planted back.’

I think you and I are reading the same articles! I read this one yesterday, and and was glad to know that we have more trees than we thought. But as you say, that doesn’t mean we can be lax. I do think our move to electronic (rather than paper) documents has been a tremendous help. I love the feel of a ‘real’ book as much as the next person, but I love the fact that e-books mean fewer trees are at risk.
