As bean gets older, the days get fuller. A haze of smiles, giggles, milk, nappy changes purees and tantrums, I arrive at Beanly’s bedtime and wonder where the day went?
The summer evenings are a welcome reward for a hard days parenting and nothing cheers the soul more than, watering the patio patch and sitting down in the sunshine for a glass of wine and some nibbles.
This month’s Green Bean Challenge is all about the beach and I’m bringing the beach to the garden with this beautiful hand painted glass called stormy seas. It was sent to me by the lovely beans at Go Eco Store and they are painted by the artist, René Trewern, who’s all the way from Devon. She paints glasses layer by layer to create the design. Very sturdy and not too big, this glass is perfect for my evening retreat. Priced at £15 for a pair, I think this is great value for hand painted glasses.
To accompany my wine, I was also sent an olive dish. Made from recycled glass, it’s just the right size for a few nibbles. Some olives, a bit of fruit and retro pineapples and cheese, although I don’t make a hedgehog out of them. This is a solid piece, made from a flattened glass bottle and comes with two, sweet little, olive pickers. The dish is £19.95 and would make a great Fathers Day present for the fan of al fresco dining!
