Watercress and Pear Smoothie

Watercress and pears are in season at the moment. In fact watercress is a superfood, packed full of nutrients such as iron and vitamin C. A perfect energy booster for your third trimester.

I’m not that fond of the strong peppery taste of watercress, so I reduced the ingredients recommended in the original recipe*. The watercress is not overpowering as you might expect in fact if the pears are really ripe, this is the overriding flavour.


(If blended rather than juiced, makes approximately 150ml)

  • 20g organic watercress
  • 2 x organic ripe pears.


  • If you don’t have a juicer, core the pear and dice.
  • Roughly chop the watercress. Place in a suitable bowl and blend.
  • If you have a juicer, simply juice the pears, then the watercress and mix.
