Toys & Tudors

It’s been much quieter this week. Not as many voices around. My space is getting smaller and I’m having to push things out the way more often as I keep getting squashed. I hope it doesn’t get much smaller!

There were some new voices around this weekend. They are my granddad and grandma Nelson. They have been staying with us for a visit.

While they were here we went out to a very old house. I couldn’t see it because it’s very dark in here, but the voice told me all about it. It’s a new sort of space that is much older than my space, or the new space I’m going to. Voices called the Tudors lived there a long time ago. Lots of different voices lived there, after that, at different times.

One voice made books. The Voice says books are things that teach people about the world, they sound interesting. A seamstress voice lived there too and she made things for other voices and spaces, like my voice has been making things for me and my new space.

There were some very strange noises at one point and I found it hard to stay upright. The Voice said the old Tudor space was full of sloping creaky floorboards, or at least I think that’s what she said. I could only just hear her over the noise.

When we were in the noisy place she told me about the types of toys Beans used to play with. The Beans that played with these toys would be very old now. Old is something you get as you get bigger. I’m not sure about old.The Voice said not to worry about old too much as I wouldn’t be old for a long time.

She told me I have some new toys for when I’m in the new space. They are soft and fluffy and make funny noises. The Voice says I’ll like them. They sound very interesting.

As well as the new toys, the Voice says, before my grandma went to her new space, she left me a rabbit that she had when she was a Bean.

The new space sounds like it’s getting more and more exciting and if the dark space I’m in gets any smaller I’ll be very pleased to be there.

That’s it for this week, I’m off to dream about my new space and the interesting toys that might be in it.

Sounds like you had quite a fun trip, Bean! And your Voice is right about getting old. Don’t worry about it. For now, you’ve got much more important things to worry about, like pushing with those long things the voice calls your legs so you can make more space for yourself. And don’t forget to wait until the Voice is settled and quiet. That’s the best time! 😉 😉
Oh, and about books? When you arrive, you’ll find out how wonderful they can be!

Thanks for the advice Margot. I’m looking forward to learning about all the new things in my space 🙂
